Indians beat Topeka, Falls To St. Louis

The Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians went 1-1 Friday afternoon in the Kickapoo Tournament at Ozark, Missouri winning 7-6 to Topeka, but lost 9-0 to St. Louis Stallions.  In the first game, the Indians scored two runs in the top of the seventh to put Bartlesville up for good, thanks to a game-ending double play by Will McDaniel in the bottom of the seventh.  Derek Hill, in relief of starter Bo McSpadden got the win on the mound.  In three innings of work, Hill struck out three and walked four.  Brady Sewell and Bo McSpadden each got two hits while Garrett Meidl, Ryan Behar, Jarrett Templeton, and Derek Hill each got a hit. 

It was a different game against St. Louis as the Stallions scored five of their nine runs in the top of the fourth inning to run-rule the Indians.  That inning included two Bartlesville errors.  Joe Jones took the loss for Bartlesville.  In over three innings of work, Jones gave up seven runs on nine hits, and struck out four.  Will McDaniel, Jarrett Templeton, Bo McSpadden, and Logan McNeil each got a hit.

The Indians are 7-4 overall and 1-2 in Ozark Pool play.  Bartlesville will conclude pool play Saturday morning at 9 o'clock against Branson at Ozark, Missouri.  You can hear the game on KPGM 1500 AM.  After that, Bartlesville will play either the 3:30 or 6:30 P.M. game on Saturday.  You can the afternoon game on KWON 1400 AM.
