The Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians survived another day in the American Legion State Baseball Tournament Saturday night at Byng with a 9-3 victory over the Ada A's.

The game had two lightning delays before it was called in the bottom of the sixth when heavy rain moved into the area.  The Indians got off to a fast start, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning and three runs in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead.  Ada got on the board with a run in the top of the fourth inning.  Bartlesville scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 9-1 lead. The A's scored two runs in the top of the six inning to cut the Indians lead.  Bartlesville was about to go to bat in the bottom of the sixth when the weather moved in. Joe Jones improved his record on the mound to 7-1 this season as he went the distance, giving up three runs on seven hits, walked two, and struck out six.  Sam Walker went 2 for 3 at the plate while Dustin Weisenbach and Trevor Doyle each hit a double.  Zac Boyes and Logan McNeil got a hit each.

The Indians improve to 29-15 overall and will play on Sunday against the loser of the Southwest Shockers/Ada Braves game at 2 P.M. at East Central University.   Bartlesville will have to win three straight games to claim the state championship.  You can hear the games on KWON 1400 AM; 93.3 FM and www.bartlesvilleradio.com.
