In-state college basketball over the weekend, Oklahoma State got a much needed win on the road at K-State, while Oklahoma fell just short at KU.

The Sooners lost at No. 6 Kansas on Saturday afternoon, 63-59.

OU was forced to play without Brady Manek and Jalen Hill because of COVID-19 protocols. OU had a lead with 2.5 minutes left on an Austin Reeves mid-range jumper.

Oklahoma would be outscored 7-2 in the game’s last 2.5 minutes to fall to 6-4 on the year. OU next at home against TCU on Tuesday night at 6:30.

Elsewhere, Oklahoma State handled a short-handed K-State club, 70-54. The Wildcats had only six scholarship players because of COVID-19 guidelines. Isaac Likekele had 15 points and nine rebounds. The Cowboys are 7-3 overall, they host No. 6 Kansas up next on Tuesday night.

Also this week, Tulsa has a big game at Wichita State on Wednesday night at 6:00. The Hurricane has won six in a row following their last loss, which was at home to the Shockers before Christmas
