Huskies Look to Bounce Back From Back-to-Back Losses

The Pawhuska Huskies just lost back-to-back regular season games for the first time since 2017. They will look to bounce back this Friday with a home game against Commerce, a team that has long been well-respected across northeast Oklahoma. Coach Matt Hennesy hopes the loss at Hominy serves as a wake-up call, as he says the team has responded in practice.

Hennesy said the Tigers will be the best, if not the second best team they face all year, as they are a very fundamentally-sound football team. Hennesy added that Commerce has a new coach, but has a good staff surrounding him.

With the Huskies sitting at 1-2 and district play beginning this week, Hennesy has stressed to his team that all of the goals that they had coming in to the season are still within reach and it starts with a good performance against Commerce on Friday night.

Friday's game will start with a Military Recognition Ceremony at 6:50 p.m. and kickoff will follow. The game can be heard Sportstalk KPGM FM 99.1 and will be streamed on KPGMTV.com.
