Horse Helps Nowata Native Fulfill Her Dreams

An unlikely relationship between a longtime Nowata resident and her horse has led them to their first ever National Finals Rodeo appearance in Las Vegas, Nevada to compete in barrel racing.

Tracy Nowlin says she had given up on her dreams to be in the National Finals Rodeo and had looked for a horse for her son when she stumbled upon her horse Dolly Jo on Facebook. She took Dolly Jo home and bought her when she knew that the gentleman that had her no longer needed her.

Nowlin says she found out about her ranking when the season wrapped up for her on a brisk September day in Omaha, Nebraska. Dolly Jo has helped her fulfill her dreams and they have been a match made in heaven, say Nowlin.

The National Finals Rodeo starts Dec. 6th and will go through Dec. 15th. We will have more on Tracy Nowlin’s journey through the National Finals Rodeo with her horse Dolly Jo in the days to come.
