Harding Women Claim Third GAC Title

Harding University claimed their third Great American Conference womens title Sunday afternoon at Bartlesville with a 73-71 win over Arkansas Tech.  The game was a classic from start until finish. Harding made the winning shot with less than three seconds to go.  With that, Harding are back to back champions.  Harding's first title came back in 2014.  Arkansas Tech led 26-22 after the first quarter and were outscored 23-13 in the second quarter and Harding led 45-39 at halftime.  There were six lead changes and nine times the game was tied.  Harding shot 40 percent compared to UAT's 47 percent. Harding dominated the boards, out rebounding UAT 37-31.  Harding's Syndie Jones led with 30 points and nine rebounds.  She was also the tournament's MVP.  Caroline Hogue finished with 15 points. A'ndrea Haney finished with 11 points while Falan Miller added 10 points.  Arkansas Tech's Kelsey McClure led with 26 points, followed by Cheyenne North with 15 points, and Anissa Pounds added 11 points.

Harding improves to 27-3 while Arkansas Tech falls to 22-7.
