Bartlesville High baseball completed a two-game sweep over Putnam City West on Tuesday evening, as the Bruins won a pitcher’s duel at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

BHS beat the Patriots 2-0.

Jakob Hall was again the story of the evening on the mound. Hall faced the minimum 21 in his seven-innings of work - getting a complete game win.

Two Putnam City West hitters reached on singles, both of whom made outs on the bases later on. Hall struck out 16 of the 21 batters he faced, including the final out of the game.

The starting pitcher for PC West, Maddux Byers, kept the Patriots in the game. After tallying 14 hits on Monday, the Bruins only had five on Tuesday.

It was a bunt single and PC West throwing error that provided Bartlesville with the winning run.

Bartlesville improves to 7-5 in District play, 17-7 overall.

The Bruins still have three games this week, with a road contest at Skiatook on Thursday, then back-to-back home games against Claremore-Sequoyah and NOAH on Friday and Saturday.

A big final District series of the year awaits with Stillwater early next week.
