Final Week of Bruin Spring Football

BHS football will continue to take it slow during its final week of spring practice at Custer Stadium.

The Bruins will have to brave the evening heat over the next four days to close out the spring portion of their workouts. This would usually be the week that BHS would head to a team camp in state to try their hand at facing different players and teams, but with the new Lee Blankenship regime, Bartlesville has been working from the ground up.

Blankenship says from the first day of practice two weeks ago, until now, he wants everyone to be on the same page.

The slow pace this spring will put an added emphasis on the summer for the Bruins. Blankenship said a lot of his team’s summer months will be filled with learning its own playbook.

He pointed to a padded summer camp as a time where Bartlesville could catch up. There will be no spring game this week, although there will be many scrimmage type drills over the next few days.
