East Central University Claim First GAC Title

East Central University, out of Ada, Oklahoma, won their first Great American Conference tournament title Sunday afternoon in Bartlesville with an 82-67 win over Arkansas Monticello.  It was a tale of two halves.  UAM led 37-31 at halftime, but ECU had a huge second half, out scoring UAM 51-30 in the second half to pick up their 24th victory.  In the second half, the Tigers shot 69 percent from the field, and finished with 52 percent.  East Central shot 50 percent from the 3-point line (9 for 18).  The Tigers won the boards 38-29 and as a team had eight block shots, to UAM's zero blocks.  ECU's Braxton Reeves led with 21 points, four assists, a steal, and a block.  He was also the tournament's MVP.  Aly Hudgins finished with 16 points and Brett Cannon added 14 points.  Ishmael Donzo finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks.  UAM's Cabe Goosby led with 23 points and eight rebounds and Vicktor Arnick added 10 points.  The Tigers led as many as 19 points late in the second half.  

ECU improves to 24-7 while Arkansas Monticello drops to 23-6.
