After a quick break for Thanksgiving both Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball teams return to action with a Saturday trip to Avila University in Kansas City. Each squad will look to build off wins on Tuesday against Kansas Wesleyan.

The Lady Eagles are seeking the program’s first three game conference winning streak since 2019. OKWU swept Avila in two meetings last season. Improved defense has made an impact for the Lady Eagles so far this season. Head coach Grace Hadley says having Thursday off should benefit the team.

The 14th-ranked men’s team is seeking its tenth straight victory to start the season. OKWU is off to its best start since winning 17 in a row to start the 2018-19 season. This year, just two Eagles are averaging over 10 points per game—Freshman Jaden Lietzke and junior Brandon Bird. Head coach Donnie Bostwick said those two players had impressive offseasons.

Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. from the Mabee Fieldhouse in Kansas City. Radio coverage can be heard on Sportstalk 1500 AM—99.1 FM KPGM.
