In just one week football practices will begin across Oklahoma. Uncertainty runs abound as teams set to begin what could be an unusual season. At Dewey, second-year head coach Trent Turner has seen a great turnout for summer programs despite concerns amid the pandemic.

The Bulldoggers have kept positive and focused on competition during the summer workout session. Turner says even without much in the way of throwing or football activities the battle between Tate Lewis and Trenton Muninger at quarterback has him excited.

The Doggers went 7-4 in 2019 after a complete turnaround with the team’s offense. Dewey has gaps to fill at several skill position on that side of the ball. 43 of the squads 48 total touchdowns came from graduating seniors last season. A new wave of playmakers featured by Jack Davis, Corbin Buford and Jacob Mouser could aid this high-powered offensive unit in 2020.

Dewey will open the season at Miami on August 28. Select Bulldogger football games can be heard on KRIG 104.9 FM this fall.
