Doggers Host Friday Scrimmage
The Bulldoggers have two bigger teams in town for their one and only regular season tune up competition. Locust Grove and Miami will converge on Bulldogger Stadium on Friday night. Dewey has its sight set on improvement in 2019 after going 2-8 last year.
New head coach Trent Turner will be tasked with repairing a defense that struggled at times in 2018. Turner has tabbed Otis Crane as the new defensive coordinator. Crane is a holdover from last year who previously served as the offensive playcaller. Crane is excited about the wealth of talent at the linebacker position.
Hunter Rumsey will fill the Mike linebackers spot. Crane expects the senior to serve in a leadership role. Cayden Baughn is an impact newcomer that will play one of the outside linebacker spots as well.
The Doggers open the season a week from today with a home game againt Turner’s former team, Adair.
