As of now business is expected to go on as usual for the 2020 football season. The OSSAA has made no announcement that it will hold back any fall athletic activities to this point. However, Dewey head coach Trent Turner believes Oklahoma City Public Schools delaying its start could have a ripple effect on athletics across the state.

The Doggers have all 10 games on their schedule with nothing standing in the way. Although Turner said it would be naïve to think that the football season would go off without any sort of interruption across the state. Turner said he reviewed Dewey’s back to school plan and understands that it will require effort to make sure football runs safely.

Even with uncertainty in the air Turner says his team has made great strides in the weight room. He says competition even in small ways has led to great strides being made. Dewey will begin practices on August 10.
