Doenges Ford Indians Tryouts Saturday

The Doenges Ford Indians will hold tryouts for Bartlesville’s summer baseball team this weekend.

There will be two younger affiliate programs with the club this summer. The United Linen Braves, the 17-and-under club, and the Safari Smiles, the 15-and-under team, will hold tryouts at 9:00 on Saturday morning. Signups begin at 8:00.

Meanwhile the Indians will hold tryouts at 2:00 PM, with signups at 1:00.

Manager John Pannell is back for his third season in his second stint as the Tribe's head man. Pannell talks about the tryouts.

The Indians will still be affiliated with the local legion post, but will also play in the new Oklahoma Collegiate League, which opens the door for some older former Bruins and area players to return home and play this summer.
