Doenges Ford Indian's End Season

The 2018 Doenges Ford Indian’s season came to an end on Saturday afternoon, after losing to the Ardmore Cardinals 6-4 in the elimination bracket of the Oklahoma State Legion Baseball Tournament in Madill.

It was the end of an interesting weekend for Bartlesville, which stayed alive until Saturday because of a weather delay during its Ardmore game on Friday evening.

The Indian’s trailed 6-4 when the game was postponed in the bottom of the sixth inning. Bartlesville had a chance to come back when the game resumed, however the Indian’s went three-up and three-down in the top of the seventh to end its season.

The Indian’s will likely look back on 2018 as a successful season, albeit with some missed opportunities. Bartlesville finished with a 22-17 record. The Indian’s showed off their talent all summer long, with weeks-long hot streaks at the plate and some outrageous offensive numbers. Bartlesville also had startling pitching depth with several arms showing themselves to be capable throughout the season. The Indian’s won the 2018 Glen Wignet earlier this month.

However, defensive miscues and inconsistencies kept Bartlesville from tallying a few more wins. Several guys will be back next summer as well.
