Dewey Takes Down Adair

In their first home game since December 1 the Dewey Bulldoggers knocked off Adair, 69-59.

The game was level early on when Dewey took off on a nine-to-two run to end the quarter leading, 18-11. The Doggers took that momentum and ran with it as they doubled their lead by halftime going up, 40-18.

Sophomore forward Hayden Thornton had a nice first half as he tallied 11 of his 14 points on the game.

Dewey came out of the locker room a bit sluggish and let Adair claw its way back into the game. At one point in the fourth quarter the Warriors cut the lead to seven points but that was as low as would get.

Senior Caston Frye started to find his shooting stroke in the second half as he knocked down two three-pointers. Frye was also very aggressive attacking the basket and he was able to force Adair to commit fouls. Frye led the team with 18 points in the win after only having five in the first half.

This was the first game of three-game home stretch for Dewey. They take on Pawhuska on Thursday in another home game. KRIG 104.9 FM will have coverage of that contest.
