Dewey Sweeps Pawhuska

The Dewey Bulldoggers and Lady Doggers basketball teams picked up a couple of wins Tuesday night at Pawhuska.  Lady Doggers won their first game of the season with a 30-25 victory while the Doggers extended their winning streak to three games with a 60-35 crushing over the Huskies. Lady Doggers led 20-13 at halftime, but were outscored by Pawhuska 10-2 in the third period to take a 23-22 led going into the fourth.  Dewey would bounce back as they outscored Pawhuska 8-2 in the period to pick up their first win of the season.  Kiersten Vincent led the Lady Doggers with 10 points.  

In the boys game, Dewey led 12-11 after one period of play, but the Doggers would take a 29-15 halftime lead after outscoring the Huskies 17-4 in the second period.  It was all Dewey in the second half as they won their third straight game.  Hunter Hines led Dewey with 19 points, hitting four 3-pointers while Spencer Hayes added 11 points.  Pawhuska was led by Trent Barnett's 16 points.

Next up for the Doggers and Lady Doggers will be Friday night at home against the Caney Valley, Kansas Bullpups.  The girls game will start at 6:30 while the boys game will start at 8 o'clock.
