Dewey and Nowata will meet on the hardwood for the second time in ten days on Tuesday. This time the Doggers will play host. Nowata won the first matchup between the two rivals , 68-31 on Jan. 2, a rescheduled date from a first semester game that was postponed.

Nowata has notched a couple of victories since the first meeting. The Ironmen knocked off both Chelsea and Barnsdall early last week before an off day on Friday. Nowata is currently 7-1 and ranked No. 12 in the Class 2A rankings. The Ironmen have been the victors in the last three meetings.

Dewey put together a solid showing at the Oologah tournament last weekend to finish fourth. The Doggers topped Oologah JV before falling to the varsity Mustangs and Pryor. The Doggers have more talent than a 1-5 record suggests. Dewey last beat the Ironmen on Jan 29, 2019.

Coverage from Dewey High School can be heard on KRIG 104.9 FM starting at 8 p.m.
