Dewey Football Gearing Up For Tough Schedule

We are on the eves of high school football practices beginning across the state with Monday being the first day teams are allowed to take the field.

Preparations have been underway all summer long at Dewey High School for the start of practices. Dewey is coming off a 4-6 campaign in 2017 in which the Doggers played very well early on before sputtering down the stretch in district play.

2018 will be a year of change for Dewey as it drops down to 2A. Even with district opponents changing Dewey head coach Tyler Caid is still going to approach the season in the same way.

The Doggers start off this season with a tough stretch of non-district games starting with a road trip to Adair on August 24. Dewey then hosts Nowata in the battle for the Adam Hooper Trophy on August 31.

Then the Doggers square off with a much-improved Vinita team after a bye week.

You can find the full Dewey schedule as well other area teams here.
