It was a Sperry sweep Tuesday night at Dewey as the Pirates ranked 9th in Class 3A snapped the Doggers seven-game winning streak with a 72-47 win while the Lady Doggers fall short 27-23 to the Lady Pirates.

The Lady Doggers took a 5-2 lead going into the second period, but Sperry took advantage of Dewey turnovers outscoring the Lady Doggers 10-1 in the period to take a 12-6 halftime lead. Dewey tried to make a comeback, but again turnovers were a factor as the Lady Pirates went home with a victory.  Erin Hershock led with seven points while Jaycie Nickerson added five.  Dewey falls to 2-10 on the season.

The boys game started out with both teams red hot shooting as Dewey took a 23-21 lead going into the second period, but the Pirates started to take advantage of Dewey turnovers and cold shooting as they led 38-31.  Sperry began the third period on an 8-0 run and never looked back as they went home with a win.  Trenton Anderson led Dewey with 15 points while Hunter Hines added 12. Sperry's Peyton Pratt led all scores with 28.  With the loss, the Doggers are now 7-5 overall this season.

Next up for Dewey will be this Friday night at Verdigris.
