Dewey Falls to Kiefer for Homecoming

It was a tale of two halves for the Dewey Bulldoggers who saw themselves eliminated from playoff contention after a 45-13 loss to Kiefer for the homecoming game on Friday night. The Doggers fell behind 13-0 early on after a botched punt snap led to touchdown. The Trojans also returned an interception to the house as well.

Dewey fought back with a hard-fought touchdown run from homecoming king Cole Brown who scored from 25 yards out.

Kiefer then responded with a field goal to make it 16-7. In the dwindling seconds of the first half Kale Carner and the Dogger offense led a penalty-aided touchdown drive that resulted in 16-yard connection from Carner to Brown.

Kiefer led just 16-13 at half. However, the Trojans would pull away with two quick touchdowns early in third quarter. Dewey struggled to play catch up, ultimately allowing Kiefer to score 29 unanswered points in the second half leading to the loss.

Dewey falls to 1-6 on the year and 0-4 in district play. The Doggers travel to Caney Valley next Thursday for a district game.
