Copan - Wesleyan Christian Football Coming Up
Two 1-0 teams are going to match up on Friday in one of the more interesting contests of the early season, Copan/South Coffeyville will host Wesleyan Christian School in a battle of former teammates in eight-man football.
Both teams won their matchups last week by two scores of more. Wesleyan Christian topped Wellston 78-54, while Copan/South Coffeyville beat Webber’s Falls 24-12.
Curt Cloud’s WCS Mustangs scored 11 touchdowns in an offensive explosion on Friday. Six different Mustangs scored in the contest. Cloud says you have to be pleased with such a great offensive output.
The storyline of the matchup will be the two former co-op partners playing one another. Wesleyan Christian and Copan played on the same team in 2018 before WCS split off on its own prior to this year, which left Copan to play with South Coffeyville. Cloud says this game does have some added juice to it because of the history.
We will have a look at the Copan side of this matchup later on this week.
Kickoff set for 7:00 on Friday night in Copan.
