Copan's Schedule Doesn't Get Easier

Copan is coming off an 0-2 week after losses to Woodland (48-46) and Hominy (61-27). And it is all up-hill from here, as the Hornets are in the Caney Valley Tournament on Tuesday-Friday. Nowata, Caney Valley and Oklahoma Union are just a few bigger schools that Copan (2-7) will be up against this week.

Hornet head coach Kevin Foreman says that the losses against Woodland and Hominy aren't easy to get over. Foreman says he knows his boys felt like they should have beaten Woodland, after leading throughout.

The loss to Hominy was more about size and athleticism.

The message to the team continues to be improvement. Foreman says he still feels confident about his team when Copan starts to play teams more the Hornets' size. Unfortunately, that doesn't start now. Copan gets Nowata, a 3A team, brings athletes that Copan may not be able to match

Foreman says his team is looking forward to the tournament. Playing teams in bigger classifications is good for the guys, like taking practice swings with a donut on the bat. Big-picture, Foreman hopes that the Hornets can steal a win or two in the Caney Valley tournament, and continue to prepare for the playoffs in three weeks.
