Copan Hornets Have Options for Scorers
If a shooter and scorer resides in northern Washington County, there might be space on the Copan boy's basketball roster.
Copan loses the majority of its scoring from a year ago, with Colt Raemhild graduating. Despite those departures, the Hornets still have a stable of returners that can help put the ball in the hoop. Garrick Askew, Aaron Hunt, Wyatt Davis and Dalton King.
All four of those guys were big-time contributors a season ago, but did not necessarily carry a scoring load. Hunt has the ability to drive the basketball, which can be a help to the Hornets when they are struggling. Copan is 1-0 after a 52-37 win over Shidler last week. Head coach Kevin Foreman talks about isolating Hunt to help the Hornets offense.
Copan, as usual, plays a brutal schedule compared with its B classification for 2018-2019.
Of its 18 regular season games, the Hornets have nine against teams Class A or higher.
Next game for Copan is on Tuesday, when it travels to Caney Valley.
