Copan Football Has Late Head Coaching Change

It is a little bit late in the game, but Copan football is going to get a new head coach again before the start of the 2019 season.

Former Hornet skipper Shane Page has resigned his post to pursue other coaching opportunities.

Page took over the Copan program prior to the 2017 season, when the Hornets did not have a team due to lack of players. Last year, Copan co-oped with Wesleyan Christian School. This fall, Copan will co-op with South Coffeyville to fill out a full roster in Class B.

The new Hornet skipper is a familiar name to people in the community, Dalton Loader. Loader has been with Copan for the past seven years.

He had been running the junior high football program prior to becoming an assistant on Page’s staff. Loader says about eight-to-10 Copan guys will participate in football this fall, with the entire co-oped team numbering anywhere from 15-20.
