Caney Valley Baseball Holding Strong in Rankings

The Caney Valley Trojans remain the only area team ranked in the latest update to the OSSAA Rankings. The Trojans are holding steady at No. 16, the same spot they’ve held the last two weeks.

Caney Valley is currently 8-2 overall and is riding a four-game winning streak since dropping the finals of its own tournament to Barnsdall on March 16. The Trojans won a wild game over Oklahoma Union last Friday, 17-16. Chase Brim had a walk-off base hit in eighth inning of a whacky affair. The Trojans came back from trailing 15-11 after six innings to keep its streak alive.

Caney Valley has scored at least eight runs in seven of its wins on the year, including three games with 10+ runs. The Trojans pitching has been solid as well. Despite the 16 runs allowed last Friday CV is giving up just five runs per contests.

Caney Valley will next play at Nowata on April 1.
