Bruins Try to Start New Win Streak

Bartlesville High baseball will try to get back on track on Thursday evening with another non-district contest, this one against Sand Springs.

The Bruins had their 10-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night thanks to a come-from-behind effort from Bixby. Despite Tuesday’s loss, the BHS baseball team has been surging.

It all started in mid-March when the Bruins started defending a bit better. Defense was a major key in the Bixby series, with Jakob Hall, Dakota Ward, Calvin Johnson and Braden Winters all making several above average stops on the field. Head coach Austin Jarvis relates the Bruins recent success to not letting defense errors pile up on each other.

Bartlesville’s fielding percentage has risen more than .15 points during the last three weeks. First pitch between the Bruins and the Sandites scheduled for 6:00 PM on Thursday at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

This is another game we will air on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
