Bruins Set for Bixby Showdown

High school football action will be getting under way a day early this week as most area schools are on fall break. Many games with playoff implications will be played across Northeast Oklahoma on Thursday evening.

Let’s begin with Bartlesville, as the Bruins are trying to ride some momentum following their first win on the field since back in August. BHS beat Sapulpa 9-2 this past Friday. It marked the second week in a row that the Bruin defense has carried the load. Bartlesville won the turnover battle 3-0 against the Chieftains, which factored in big-time in the win.

The Bruins will likely need to do the same thing on Thursday to have a chance against a talented Bixby team. The Spartans have won four games in a row. Bixby has two NCAA D1 commitments on its offensive line, making room for its tailbacks running the football. Here is Bartlesville head football coach Kyle Ppool.

Bixby is 4-3 overall. The Spartans are vying for their fourth straight 6A-II state title in 2017.

Kickoff at 7:00 – with a 6:30 pregame on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.

You can stream it online as well at BartlesvilleRadio.com and to your mobile device on the Bartlesville Radio App.

You can listen to the full preview of Bixby with Kyle Ppool in the archived BHS Coaches Show Page.
