Bruins Lose Close Games to Muskogee

The Bartlesville Bruins and Lady Bruins both put up a valiant efforts Friday night, but both came up short in a home contest against the Muskogee Roughers.

The girl’s game was a back and forth affair throughout, as Muskogee never had a lead bigger than 10 points and the Lady Bruins never held a lead more than three. Muskogee came out on top in the end, 52-51. The Lady Bruins led by two with less than five seconds left when Muskogee banked in a three-pointer to win the game. This hustle play kept the Lady Bruins in the game late. 

Chloe Martin scored 19 of her 23 points in the second half. The Lady Bruins fall to 6-12 on the season.     

The boys fell 46-37 and were outscored 8-0 in the final 90 seconds of the ballgame. Muskogee led the game wire-to-wire, but Bartlesville had the ball down by one point several times, they just couldn’t take the lead. It was plays like this that prevented the Roughers from pulling away.

LP Smith scored in double figures once again. The Bruins are now 1-16. Up next for Bartlesville is a game at Jenks on Tuesday.
