The Bartlesville boy’s basketball team lost their second straight game out of Winter Break on Tuesday.

The Bruins fell at Booker T. Washington 89-66. Bartlesville fell behind quickly and could never seriously get back in the contest. The Hornets led by 15 at the end of the first quarter and Bartlesville could get no closer.

Despite the lopsided loss there were some positives for the boys in blue.

The Bruins kept up with Booker T. in the final three quarters. Bartlesville won the third quarter with both teams playing their starters, and BHS had its highest point total of the season at 66. Also, a key cog for the Bruins going forward is starting to shoot the ball better. Jaylin Oliver hit six more three-pointers on his way to 20 points.

Oliver has now made 11 three pointers in his last two games. He had only 10 threes in his first six games before Christmas.

The Bruins will next host the ConocoPhillips Arvest Invitational starting on Thrusday night. Girls play at 7:00 with the guy’s about 8:30 in round one of that event, both teams will play three games in three days at Bruin Fieldhouse.
