Bruins Easily Sweep Muskogee

Both Bartlesville High basketball teams easily dispatched of Muskogee at Bruin Fieldhouse in a Frontier Valley Conference double-header on Tuesday evening.

On the girl’s side first, BHS led 18-0 before you cloud even blink. Bartlesville would cruise to a 69-24 blowout win.

Muskogee’s first basket came with just over 2.5 minutes left in the first quarter. The Lady Roughers would not get within 16 the rest of the way. Chloe Martin’s hot shooting got the Lady Bruins up and running quickly, including this trey at the end of the first quarter.

The Bartlesville girls (11-2) have won nine games in a row. They are ranked as the No. 10 team in Class 6A. BHS should have a good chance to host a regional with good play down the stretch in the final four weeks of the regular season.

The guy’s game went about the same.

The Bruin boys led 10-0 before Muskogee got its only point of the first quarter, on a free throw with 1:02 left. The Roughers would score just nine first half points, and Bartlesville would coast to its third win in the last four games, 50-29, a 21-point victory.

Tayo Dina led BHS with six early points, including this and-one that extended Bartlesville’s run to begin the game.

Jaylin Oliver led all scorers with 20 points. He has had 20 points or more in five of the six games since Winter Break. The 29 points allowed for Bartlesville (6-6) was the lowest offensive output for Muskogee this season.

No rest for the Bruin guys, they will be in a tournament in Kansas City starting on Thursday afternoon.
