Bruins Begin Prep for Bixby

Bartlesville High football will be getting ready for likely its toughest test of the season on Friday night, as the Bruins will travel to face Bixby for their district opener.

BHS wrapped up non-district play with a 1-2 record thanks to a heartbreaking game this past Friday.

Collinsville topped Bartlesville 34-30. BHS had a lead for the majority of the game before a Cardinal score with less than 30 seconds left gave them the victory.

BHS played a sharp game, with the defense, quarterback Paxton Bradford, wide receiver Gage Keaton and running back Dylan McCoy all having good games – Collinsville just made extra plays down the stretch.

After the game, head coach Jason Sport talked about his team’s performance.

Bixby holds 11-man’s longest win-streak in Oklahoma high school football at 27 consecutive wins. The Bruins last topped the Spartans in 2015, during the regular season of Bartlesville’s run to the state semifinals.

We will have much more on that matchup this week and on Wednesday’s edition of the Jason Sport Show.
