Bruin Soccer Gears For Important Senior Night

Bartlesville’s soccer teams had their momentum halted a bit on Tuesday. Both the Bruins and Lady Bruins suffered their first losses since late March when Broken Arrow shut out both squads.

Losing to Broken Arrow is nothing to be ashamed of. The Tigers and Lady Tigers are both top teams in 6A. However, the losses add importance to the matchups with Owasso on Friday night at Custer Stadium. Both teams will celebrate their seniors for senior night.

The Bruin’s will honor Lane Callaghan, Josue Carreno, Chase Fowler, Corey Erfurdt, Caleb Coats, Martin Geerts, Jarah Snyder, Sloan Becker, Kyle Bell and Ricardo Saucedo. Boy’s head coach Micah Lipscomb says this senior class has been instrumental for the program.

On the field, the Bruins feel like they came within a hair of knocking off Broken Arrow on Tuesday. Lipscomb says BHS did everything but win the game, and played tremendously in the second half.

The loss puts Bartlesville at 3-2 in district play. BHS will likely battle with Owasso for the third spot in the district, so Friday’s game means a lot.

Lipscomb says that any game against Owasso means a lot.

The Bruins and Rams have had a lot of classic matchups in the past, and Lipscomb says he expects that this one will be no different.
