It is the stretch run of the 2018 golf season at Bartlesville High, as a team with potential is trying to finish strong.

The Bruins did well in the Frontier Valley Conference tournament on Monday afternoon at The Oaks Country Club. BHS took fourth as a team – behind the powerhouses of Owasso, Union and Broken Arrow.

Three of the five players for Bartlesville shot under 160 for a two-round score. The Bruins were led by Matt Russell, who shot a 156. He had a second round 75. Taton Hopkins finished at 158 and Carson Rainbolt ended at 159. Bartlesville is close to perhaps being a state qualifying level team in 6A. Here is head coach Jeff Rude.

Up next for Bartlesville golf is its own tournament. The Bruins will host an event at Adams Golf Course on Monday – many of the same teams will be on hand from the Frontier Valley tournament.

Regionals will begin on April 30
