It will be a special edition of the Lee Blankenship show on Wednesday night, as Bartlesville gets set for a pivotal game in its season.

Bartlesville High (1-3) will face Sapulpa (3-1) for a big matchup on Friday evening. The middle part of the east-side District in 6A-II is wide open.

The Bruins will have a chance to knock off a good team at home, while also providing their playoff chances a major boost. Sapulpa is improved in 2018, but is coming off an absolute blowout loss against Bixby last week in its district opener.

The Spartans won 45-0, after leading Sapulpa 45-0 at halftime. The Chieftains played all 5A teams in their non-district.

Bartlesville has had an extra day to prepare, as the Bruins played this past Thursday at Booker T. Washington, falling to the Hornets 43-7.

We will have a recap of that game, and a preview of the Sapulpa game on Wednesday during the Bartlesville High Coach’s show. We will have a special edition of the show this evening, with offensive coordinator Cody McDaniel and defensive coordinator Jason Sport in to talk about their respective units.

The show runs from 6-7 every Wednesday evening on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3 live from Hideaway Pizza in downtown Bartlesville. Listen in or join us live at Hideaway.

Sapulpa and Bartlesville kick at 7:00 PM on Friday, 6:30 pregame also on KWON from Custer Stadium.
