The Bartlesville baseball team snapped its four-game losing streak, and picked up its second district win of the season on Monday night.

The Bruins topped Bixby 7-4, thanks to a five-run sixth inning from the Bartlesville offense. The biggest hit came from Chase Fiddler. Fiddler, who had his average briefly drop below .400 for the first time since the season begin, smacked a three-RBI double to left field that ended up being the difference in the game.

BHS once again had its fair share of base hits, but couldn’t outduel the Spartan offense for the first five innings. Bixby drew eight walks, yet only tallied five hits in the game. Two of the walks came around to score. BHS managed eight hits against Spartan pitching.

AJ Archambo had two RBIs on a couple of singles. He drove in a run in the third inning, and also drove in Fiddler for the final run of the game in the sixth inning.

BHS started its big frame with a walk from Logan McNeill. Colton Penrod and Chandler Holliman singled to load the bases. Brady Sewell was hit by a pitch, to score the first run. Fiddler followed with the bases clearing double.

Tate Holman and Joe Jones each pitched three innings before McNeill came on for the save in the seventh inning.

It is the Bruins second district victory of the year, and second win over Bixby. BHS beat the Spartans 5-4 on April 10. Game two of the series is in Bixby on Tuesday afternoon at 5:00.
