Bruin Baseball Loses In AZ

Another good day at the plate for Bartlesville's baseball team, but another tally in the loss column.

Bartlesville lost to Stillwater 8-6 thanks to a two-run Pioneer bottom of the 6th. Stillwater had two singles and a hit-by-pitch in the inning that drove home the runs. Bartlesville had a 6-4 lead after four innings, but the bullpen didn't hold up.

Offensively, the Bruins were great again. BHS had eight hits, and forced four Stillwater errors.

The last three runs for Bartlesville came in the fourth inning, off three hits in a row from Chase Fiddler, Zac Boyes and Gage Gardner. David Wiseman started off the inning with a walk, he scored on a single from Fiddler. Fiddler stole second and scored on the Boyes single. Then Boyes advanced to second base on a throwing error and scored on a double from Gardner.

The Bruins were pretty balanced offensively. Fiddler finished three for four at the plate, while Gardner had two hits.

Chandler Holliman started for BHS, throwing four innings, giving up four hits and four runs. However Derek Hill got the loss, surrendering three runs on three hits during one inning of work.

The Bruins play again in Arizona on Friday.
