Bruin Baseball 1-0 to Begin 2021

Bartlesville High baseball won its season opener on Monday evening at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium.

The Bruins were 4-3 winners over Enid in a district contest. Eric Olenberger ripped a double over the Plainsmen left fielder’s head that scored three runs for the Bruins in the bottom of the fifth, which ended up winning it.

Bradee Rigdon earned the win on the mound – he pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh with BHS holding on to a one-run lead.

Before the season began, head coach Cody Price said he knew what he had on the mound this spring.

Zeb Henry, William Parsley and Braeden Winters all tallied two hits on the afternoon. Bartlesville out-hit Enid 9-6 in the contest. 

The Bruins are 1-0 on the year.

Bartlesville will next travel to Enid for game two of the season, and the final game of this district series – First pitch on Tuesday evening at 6:30 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
