Bruin Athletics Back Today

Bartlesville High Athletics will return in a limited capacity on Monday, as Bruin student athletes can start weight lifting and running on the track at Custer Stadium.

This is the first day that school district sanctioned activities are back for student athletes.

Bartlesville Public Schools is starting small in reopening a limited number of facilities in an effort to control who is in and out of them. The limited opening also allows the district a chance to fully clean the facilities in between workouts.

Bartlesville is starting the same way as all of its peers in the Frontier Valley Conference.

BHS Athletic and Activities Director Thad Dilbeck says that Bartlesville will be in consultation with many other districts across the state to figure out what is working, and not working.

The ultimate goal is to hold fall practices for volleyball, softball and cross country beginning on July 15, as per OSSAA rules. Football cannot begin official practice until later in August.

Some sports will start to hold tryouts next week, as well. More on that throughout the week.
