Bartlesville softball and volleyball are a couple weeks until their respective seasons with varying results.

The BHS volleyball team is 0-4 after playing a tough schedule early. The Lady Bruins came their closest to a victory on Thursday night at Bruin Fieldhouse. Bartlesville was playing in its second home match of the year and fell to Bixby 16-25, 26-24, 25-15, 20-25, and 15-9.

Head coach Tom Williams mentioned the Lady Bruin's tough schedule in KWON's BHS volleyball preview. William's clubs have been known to gain momentum as the season goes along. Bartlesville won an academic state championship in volleyball in 2014.

The BHS softball team is off to a better start. The Lady Bruins are 5-5 after their game at Muskogee on Thursday evening was rained out. Bartlesville has played all 10 of its games on the road to start the year. Six of the games came at the Broken Arrow Invitational August 14-15.

The Lady Bruins will return home on the early part of next week, on August 24 and 25, hosting Broken Arrow and Claremore. Here is our softball preview

Hear more from Williams and head softball coach Craig Hampton next week on KWON and BartlesvilleRadio.com.
