BHS Splits Day 1 at BA Classic

The Bartlesville boy’s and girls’ basketball teams opened up the Broken Arrow Classic on Thursday morning down in BA, the clubs split their first pair of contests.

First, the BHS girls won 61-23 over Nathan Hale. Bartlesville led from wire-to-wire and never had much trouble handling the Lady Rangers. Jena’ Williams led the Lady Bruins in scoring for the second-straight game to begin the year, she had 16.

BHS is 2-0. Bartlesville will face the winner of Webb City, Mo. on Friday at 5:00 PM. KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3. will have that broadcast.

On the guy’s side, a poor third quarter did the Bruins in. Westmoore beat Bartlesville 75-53. The Bruins trailed by only six with just over five minutes left in the third quarter when the flood gates opened. The Jaguars outscored Bartlesville 20-7 the rest of the quarter to pull away. The BHS boys are 0-2.

BHS will face the loser of Tulsa Central and Jenks at 10:00 AM on Friday. We will carry that one on Sports Talk 1500 AM – KPGM and FM 99.1.
