Seven days after having a game stolen from them, the Bartlesville girls team stole one back.

The Lady Bruins shocked the no. 11 ranked team in 6A on the road on Friday night. BHS beat Sand Springs 46-41 in overtime. After trailing by as many as 13 early in the third quarter, Bartlesville rallied down the stretch.

Crucial three-pointers from Lauryn Washington got BHS close, then two free-throws from Ronni Gilliard tied the game with seven seconds remaining in regulation. Bartlesville (9-8) outscored the Sandites 7-2 in the extra frame. Washington led the Lady Bruins with 22 points.

On the boy's side, the Bruins couldn't ever find a rhythm on offense. Bartlesville fell to the Sandites 54-35. The score doesn't tell the whole story. The Bruins (8-9) were within five early in the third quarter. Sand Springs led by about nine throughout the contest until a late run put it away.

Bartlesville struggled against the Sandites zone defense. The Bruins led early in the first quater, 10-4.

Both teams next host Bixby on Tuesday at Bruin Fieldhouse. Girls tip at 6:30 with the boys right after on KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
