Fall Sports practice has started across the state, volleyball, softball and cross country could officially start things off on Monday.

At Bartlesville High, cross country has taken to the streets and paths of the city looking to stay atop of running world in Oklahoma.

As has been reported quite a bit over the offseason, BHS has numerous star runners to replace. Most notably Nathan Lauritsen on the guy’s side, and Rilee Rigdon on the girl’s side.

The Bruin boys cross country team has won two straight 6A titles.

BHS head cross country coach David Ayers talks about what the Lady Bruins and Bruins are up to this week as practice begins.

There will be a lot of younger runners coming up this year on both sides. Ayers said he thinks if the younger runners grow up quickly, he thinks that Bartlesville has a chance to take the podium again.

Ayers talks about the main returners for BHS

Even though it is a younger group of Bruins, almost all the returners have tasted success at the state level, with championships or runner up finishes.
