BHS Baseball Falls in Extras Again

Shawnee and Bartlesville might be two of the most evenly matched teams in the state.

Bartlesville High baseball played another thriller on Tuesday evening at home against Shawnee, unfortunately for the Bruins, it was another extra inning loss.

The Wolves topped Bartlesville 7-5 in nine innings at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium. Shawnee swept BHS in both its district matchups in extra-inning affairs, after having won in 10 innings on Monday 4-3.

The Bruins (10-15) battled throughout the evening, even briefly holding a one-run lead into the sixth. The hit of the game came from Bartlesville freshman Jakob Hall, who had two RBIs on this double down the left field line.

Noah Yearout did tremendously on the mound for BHS, he went seven strong innings – after having thrown two scoreless innings on Monday as well.

BHS is still stuck at just one district win. The Bruins will host Tulsa Memorial on Thursday for senior night, then Union comes to town for a rain-out makeup game on Friday. Both those games begin at 6:00 PM.

KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3 will broadcast the Union game on Friday - with pregame coming at 6:50 PM.
