Best of 2018: Rigdon Returns to Bartlesville

Our look back at the calendar year of 2018 continues with changes at the top of the Bartlesville High Athletic Department.

Back in June, Ryan Huff resigned his post as Athletic and Activities Director, leaving BHS looking for another head man. Huff had been on the job just over a year.

Bartlesville went with a familiar face and name to take his place - in Spence Rigdon.

Rigdon had just stepped down from his post as head baseball coach about 30 days earlier in May to take the job as Athletic Director at Collinsville High School.

Collinsville was good enough to led Rigdon out of his contract, which was set to begin in July, to return home to Bartlesville and lead the Bruin Athletic Department. Rigdon talks about taking the job in Bartlesville.

Rigdon had been with the baseball program for close to 20 years and was a graduate of Bartlesville High School. At the time of the hiring, he said it was hard to put a gauge on just how excited he was to stay in Bruin blue.

Rigdon has already gotten to work with the hiring of a new softball, volleyball and now football coach at Bartlesville High just within the past couple of months.
