Bartlesville Track at State
The Bartlesville track program is sending 18 athletes to the 6A Track State Championship in Yukon on Friday and Saturday.
The 18 athletes are more than BHS track coach Bon Bennett could have hoped for. Bennett says his goal before regionals was to qualify 12 for the meet. Bartlesville high Athletic Director Tim Bart says he didn’t know the last time BHS sent so many to the state meet. The athletes will compete in more than 20 events in the two days at Yukon High School.
Just as impressive as the sheer numbers going, Bartlesville will have a decent shot at medaling in several events.
Blair Koster will be one of the favorites in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles. AJ Parker will be one of the favorites in the high jump. Krishan Baniqued will be one of the favorites in the 1600 and the 3200.
Bennett talks about all the competitors.
