The Bartlesville basketball teams split in their final matchups of the regular season at Bixby on Friday night. The BHS boys won 56-42, while the Bartlesville girls fell 56-30.

Things started out slowly for the ladies and they couldn't get over the hump to make it a game. The Bartlesville girls scored only eight points in the first half, en-route to their worst margin of defeat this season. The Lady Bruins committed 19 turnovers, and only had one player score in double digits.

The bright spot for BHS was Gabby Culver. Culver scored 10 points on three buckets with three free throws. Hailey Tucker was limited to six points, while Emily Hicks added seven.

Head coach Terry Rodgers filtered his girls in and out of the game often, trying to find a lineup combination that would work. Bartlesville has now lost three in a row.

On the boy's side, a strong third quarter propelled BHS to a double-digit win. The Bruins scored 22 points, nine of them coming from AJ Archambo, in route to victory. Antonio Castillo and AJ Parker both threw in three-pointers in the third quarter as well.

The game was tied at 23 at halftime, Barron Tanner had six points and six rebounds at the break. Bartlesville had a tough time scoring throughout the game, except for the third quarter. Bruins scored 34 points in the other three quarters combined.

Castillo led Bartlesville with 17 points. He single-handedly kept BHS in the game in the second quarter, scoring 10 of Bartlesville's 13 points in that quarter.

The Bruin's improve to 13-10, and are winners of two in a row going into the 6A playoffs.

Both the Bartlesville teams will face elimination in round one of the regionals. The girls face Sand Springs in Sapulpa on Thursday at 6:30. The boys will take on Putnam City on Friday at 7:00 in Broken Arrow.

Both teams will play again on Saturday if they should win on Thursday or Friday. All the BHS playoff games will be heard at KWON 1400 AM, 93.3 FM and online at BartlesvilleRadio.com.
