Bartlesville Soccer Preps For Regionals

After finishing district play on a strong note, the Bartlesville soccer clubs take their show on the road for the first round of regional play on Tuesday.

The BHS girls (8-5) are at Union (13-0) at 6:00, while the Bruins play at Jenks (12-1) at 8:00. Both teams will be the underdogs in their first matchups.

The boys (8-5) have the advantage of having played their regional foe. Bartlesville lost to Jenks 1-0 in its season opener on March 6.

BHS head boy’s coach Micah Lipscomb says that Bartlesville is focused on the task at hand. The club had chances down the stretch to improve its standings in district play, and perhaps host a first round game. Things didn’t go the Bruins way, but Lipscomb feels good about their chances against the Trojans.

Lipscomb talks about what Bartlesville has to improve upon from its first game against Jenks.

Adding to the Bruin’s good feelings is the experience BHS takes into the match. Bartlesville won a first round matchup last year, and the club brings many upperclassmen into the fray. Even the underclassmen have been on the field while winning a playoff game.

Lipscomb says he thinks that experience will pay off.
