The Bartlesville boys and girls cross country teams will leave for the 6A Cross Country State Meet on Friday morning - and it will probably be a fun send off.

The girls and boys will have a proper send-off complete with fanfare and applause at 11:00 AM on Friday. Anyone from the community is welcome to attend.

Both BHS squads are going for state championships on Saturday afternoon at Edmond Sante Fe High School. The girls are vying for their third straight state championship, while the boys cross country program has never won state at Bartlesville High School.

BHS head cross country coach David Ayers says that these two teams together gives Bartlesville one of the best chances its ever had at sweeping the titles.

After having not won a state title in 17 years, Bartlesville High has won four the past two school years.
