Area Hoops Return on Monday

Back to school for many area schools on Monday, and back to basketball and other winter sports for most across the area this week. There are a number of area hoops games across the tri-county region on Monday – here is the schedule:

Pawhuska will take on Dewey in an Osage vs. Washington County battle. The boy’s matchup will represent two teams that are heading in different directions.

Pawhuska has crept into the top-20 in the state in Class 2A, as the Huskies are 7-1, they have won six games in a row. Pawhuska threw back Agra 80-34 on Friday night in its first game out of Winter Break.

Meanwhile Dewey has struggled out of the gate. The Doggers are only 1-5 and have lost four straight. Dewey is playing in Class 3A this season for basketball, so the highly-ranked 2A Huskies will provide a good challenge for what’s to come in February for the Bulldoggers.

Boy’s tip off just after 8:00 in a contest we will carry on both KRIG 104.9 and 99.1 FM – KPGM.

Elsewhere across the area: Copan will take on Hominy, as both the Hornets and Bucs will have their first game out of the holiday. The Hominy guys are winless, while Copan stands at 5-2. Also South Coffeyville will begin play in the Commerce Tournament.
